In this show, Elissa plays the daughter of Koji, servant to the rich Henderson family. Seven years before, at age 15, she had a child by the Hendersons' grandson Brian, who was murdered by his enraged grandfather when he found out about this indiscretion which would bring shame on the family. As part of the ensuing cover-up, Maru now lives with her husband Paul (Jerry Waialae) and son Kimo (Stanley Puchalski). When a muckraking author Travis Marshall (James Olson) digs up the truth about the murder, Paul sells information about her past to Marshall.
